October 2012 will be our 9th La Peñita Express. We will leave Arizona October 27, 2012 and travel to La Peñita.
We meet in Arizona at an RV Park yet to be chosen. On the evening of the 26th we will have a short course on what you need to know about crossing the border and driving in Mexico. We leave the morning of the 27th and cross the border. We will stay either in Santa Ana for the first night then go on the Guaymas or go to Guaymas the first night and possibly 2nd night. We stay in a lovely old hotel and RV park. We will introduce you to the chain stores in Mexico and highlights of the area.
From Guaymas we travel to Los Mochis where we spend a night . We then travel on to Mazatlan where we chose an RV Park that works for the size of the caravan. The last day is travelling to La Peñita and we arrive at the park the first of November. You are now schooled in driving in Mexico and have met many of the park residents. You will arrive feeling like you belong to the community.
The requirement for the Caravan is to stay the month of November in the park. If it is only for one month the fee is $600 us.
For more information or to be placed on the list email Carole@lapenitarvpark.com
The La Peñita Express Caravan arrived November 1 . There were 17 rigs with the Caravan and already several rigs here. Antonio, Tacho and the boys had everything pretty well under control. Tina and Cecy had Tacos ready because it was Tuesday and we had the Margaritas ready, too. The weather is lovely. It is [...]

The weather is lovely. It is hot but if you are sitting at the pool or on the beach it is perfect. The nights are cool enough for a good sleep.
There are now about 60 rigs in and there are palapas and awnings going up all over the place. Kitchens are being built. Tiles being laid. Lots of rig washing and polishing. Rope lights and decorations are appearing.
The kitchen is open daily, except Thursday for delicious breakfasts and brunch. We are going to feature South Beach diet a day special. Watch for menus.
Toni is doing gentle Yoga and soon Jos and Linda will be starting their exercise classes. Aquasize will start a little later when I get back.
There is still lots of room so if you are thinking of joining the fun come on down to La Peñita RV Park.
I am sending this because I know there are several insurance companies out there for Mexican Vehicle Insurance and all policies are not equal. Recently we found out that some policies, while they say and even recommend you have your vehicle repaired in the US or Canada they do not pay the higher rate for the [...]
There is no one here but us and it is lovely. May is a super month to be here. Hot in the daytime with great breeze and lovely and cool at night. It is quiet and the ocean is calm and warm. La Penita and Guayabitos still have tourists, but not too many. We leave [...]
Semana Santa and Pasqua have come and gone. We had a great time. The water and the beach were perfect with mostly calm waters and gentle waves. The pool was well used and stood up ok for the most part. Grant and I and Marco are the only ones here. We will stay until the [...]
Semana Santa and Pasqua have come and gone. We had a great time. The water and the beach were perfect with mostly calm waters and gentle waves. The pool was well used and stood up ok for the most part. Grant and I and Marco are the only ones here. We will stay until the end of the week to get everything packed and put away and help to take Hank and Marg and Joe to the airport on Friday. They are now staying at a B&B and Lourdes, the hairdresser is helping them.
Antonio and Karen are putting the office to bed and Tacho and the boys are busy building walls and pruning trees along with Grant.
Hopefully I will have some time to put up some photos. My camera broke so did not take too many.
We are into our 3rd day of Semana Santa. The weather is perfect and it is so great to see all our friends back again. There are lots of people but it is quiet and clean and everyone is having a great time. We had a volleyball tournament today at the pool. It started an hour late and we only had 20 people but it was still lots of fun. Tomorrow is a quad ride to the hot river. So far there are 8 quads signed up. It should be fun.
Cecy has her cafe by the pool in the daytime and at night Tacos and Hamburgers by the office. Ruben has Pizza at the pool. Teresa does fruit, juices and bionicas behind the office and Sandra and Louis have the store. There is fish and shrimp in a stick and pineapples filled with fruit as well as drinks and snacks down by the beach.
We will have movies each night and some karaoke as well as salsa dancing.
I will update later. See the pictures on the slideshow.
I posted a link to PJ and Claudias’website. They did a great journal on their winter in the park and have excellent pictures. They also have a journal and pictures of all their travels.
