Wallyball is played daily at 10:00 am (even Christmas) . It is a lot of fun and great excersize. People from 9 to 90 play. The numbers vary. Sometimes there are only 4 or 5 people a side and other times there are 20. The game is played with a soft ball so no one gets hurt. The laughter and cheering that come from the pool every morning can be heard all over the park. This is definitely the Happy Hour at La Penita! There are tournaments. At Christmas we have a Mexican, American, Canadian tournament. There are T-shirts for the winners designed by David, a long time park patron. In February we have a "round robin" tournament with several teams. It takes all day and is a lot of fun. In March we have a staff tournament. Antonio and Tacho have watched for years and when they get in to play they usually win. |
