Welcome to La Peñita RV Park

We are very happy to have you with us. If this is your first time, WELCOME. If you are returning, WELCOME BACK! We want you to know that our staff is here to help you with anything you may need. They can direct you to park facilities as well as amenities in La Peñita and other neighboring towns.

Park Guidelines and Policies

Everyone hates rules. Our guiding principles are respect and consideration for others, and if we all keep this in mind, rules take care of themselves. However, just so everyone has the same expectations, here are things you need to know:

Electrical: NO air-conditioning, electric dryers, welders or other high electricity-consuming items to be used! Our system won’t support them. Service is 15 amps. Do not overload. Help us conserve, as electricity is expensive. This keeps park rates down.

Water: Our water is from our own well and reservoir. Please don’t waste it. The water truck does come daily if you prefer to buy drinking water.

Septic system: We are on a septic tank, and in Mexico they are not the same. Please DO NOT PUT TOILET PAPER IN THE TOILET, even RV TP. This includes in your own rig. By not putting toilet paper in the septic system we avoid nasty plug-ups and save room in the septic. Of course, this applies to other things, such as paper towels, wipes, grease, etc. Don’t put anything down the toilet you didn’t eat.

Pets: If you have animals, please pick up after them immediately, even on the beach. Don’t let your dog run around without you, so you always know when it is doing its business, and don’t let it wander from your site, pee on other people’s vehicles, tents, plants, pads, etc. If you see a dog “sneak one,” please notify the owner.

Please do not let your dog bark. This is really annoying to others. Do not leave your dogs outside, tied or in a pen, when you are not there. Well-behaved pets are welcome! Noisy or unruly pets that cause continual complaints will not be permitted to remain.

Parking: We do not have designated parking spaces. Please use the areas set aside for parking. There are parking areas throughout the park and you may or may not be able to park close to your pad. If you have problems with walking, please let us know so we can make arrangements for parking close to your pad, if possible.

Be considerate; other people need to park, so try to take only one space. Also, please do not park so you interfere with your neighbor’s view. Vehicles are not to be parked on empty pads. They will not be empty for long.

All vehicles: Please obey the speed limit of 5 km per hour. We don´t want your dust! If you are raising a dust cloud, you are going too fast.

Engine idling: Diesels are noisy and smelly. Please be considerate of others. If you stop to talk, turn off your motor. Do not leave your motor running to “warm up” your engine.

ATVs and Motorcycles: Please be considerate when driving your ATV. GO SLOW, and don’t leave the motor idling when you are not moving. Remember that they are noisy and create dust. No one under 16 is to drive in the park.

Pool: No glass bottles or breakables are to be brought to the pool area. Children under 14 must be supervised at all times.

Laundry: Our laundry area has 2 washers, I dryer and several clotheslines. Buy tickets at the office: washers are 15 pesos per load, dryer is 25 pesos. Clotheslines are free. There is a sign-up sheet at the laundry. The slots are 1 hour long. Please keep within your time frame. If you want to speed up the washer you can add water by bucket or hose. Make sure you do not overfill the machines. Water is heavy and just like overloading the machine.

Please do not wash heavy items like carpets and sleeping bags, and do not wash items that are full of pet hair or sand. Do not overload.

There is also an outside laundry service. You can leave your bag of laundry, marked with site number, at the office before 10 am and it will be returned to you between 5 and 6 pm the same day. Please be home so you can pay when it is delivered.

Smoking: The majority of people in the park are non-smokers. We are in close quarters and your smoke doesn´t just go into your lungs. It goes downwind (uphill, usually) to your neighbors and, with open windows and fans, into your neighbor´s RV. Therefore, please use designated smoking areas: at the end of the cement behind the reservoir, the back of the tenting area if there is no one camping, down the driveway by the entrance, or on the beach. You are free to smoke in your rig with fans off so the smoke doesn´t drift. Vaping is okay. Always pick up your butts.

Phone service: We have VOIP in the office. You can use the phone to call the US or Canada for free. The phone is kept just inside the window, on a chair if you need to use it when the office is closed. Please be considerate of others and limit your calls to under 10 minutes. If there are people waiting, please keep your call shorter. You can call 800 numbers and banks etc. One of the lines is from the US and the other from Canada.

Internet: We want to make sure that everyone understands the internet guidelines so there will be no misunderstandings. The internet is for emails, light websurfing, banking, Facebook, messenger and skype-type phoning without video. It is not for streaming, watching TV, YouTube, Netflix or other movie sites. It is not for running your business. These high-bandwidth activities take the internet away from everyone else on the system. If you want to do these things, then you need to buy your own internet connection. Ask at the office how to do this.

It is also necessary to put your phone, tablet or computer in airplane mode or turn off your device when not using it. If you don´t, you are still accessing the internet and it slows everything down. We will be blocking people caught streaming or misusing the internet.

Back gate: The office can give you the code to come in the back gate. Do not share it with anyone outside the park.

Requests: If you want assistance with anything, including work on your pad or RV, please go through the office or use the sign-up sheets. Of course, if it is an emergency please indicate that.

Do read the bulletin boards regularly so you can keep up with what’s going on.

Get a park business card at the office to carry with you when you go out of the park so you can call the office if you get lost or if you need assistance.

Thank you for your cooperation. We hope everyone has a wonderful winter in this paradise.

Antonio, Tacho, Staff and Carole
